CNY 2011
how’s ur new year? i hope everybody had a good break this CNY! It’s a 4 days off week, without work! i enjoyed myself very much!
most pics are in the camera, that are still sitting at my grandma’s place. so shall make do with what i have in my phone first.
除夕
Knocked off at 3.30pm, thanks to the month end closing that falls around cny period! It’s so sad to be working on this special day, u know! Chiong home to pack my luggage for the 4nights stay at my grandma’s place & lugged away tonnes of things over with my sis! of cos we helped in some cny decoration for the house before we leave! It has been tradition that we stay at our grandma’s place since 除夕 until the night before (for school/work)
初一
Was spent at my grandma’s place as usual. we serve, talk, eat and sleep!( what’s new!) Just that i received alot of pathetic red packets that are only worth 4 bucks. i thought the economy has picked up? no?!
初二
lesser guests, so we had more time for ourselves! which is so good! And my family went Kushinbo for dinner, yesh i treated them!
we had plates and plates of this crab, that my mum said 我们真的吃够本了！
The total bill was scary-$200 plus for 4 pax! Plus the fact that my mum did not bring her IC to be entitled for the senior citizen discount of 10%, i told her to compensate me for my loss, which obviously she didnt pay me in the end lah!
our first time eating out together on a chinese new year, our first reunion dinner i supposed! my dad’s treat the next family outing, he promised! Which is good, cos he never treated us before, so 猫!
The night don’t just eneded with Kushin-bo, we went over the marina floating platform for the annual 春到和河畔。 which was so boring! so MARINA BAY SAND we went. It’s so cool & so much better than resort world i feel! lots of shops and shops to shop! <3 my mum was so fascinated with the casino, claiming that it’s so alike to GENTING’s resort world! HA!
初三
went out for movie! yeah贺岁片 to complete the new year，! homecoming-笑着回家. This show realy no plot de, it’s funny lah, just laugh and laugh, It’s like paying 10bucks for you to laugh & temporarily destress yourself! Well it’s kinda of expected given it’s a local production. I must say KAREN NEO is so pretty!

we finally went visiting for the new year!with my aunts & sister.

i got myself an iphone with the ANG BAO money collected this year! i’m sucha IT idiot, iphone just freak me out! And movie again- All well ends well, 家有喜事. i like cny movies, however the plot are usually compromised lah! But it just adds to the CNY mood!

Verdict: $20 per pax. Not all dishes are nice, decent but nothing very fantastic as well! AVERAGE dim sum.
and Fancl Workshop today! It’s fabulous- i mean their fancl beauty advisers! And of course bringing home more knowledge of fancl product information.

how can we miss the sake sashimi!It’s rather pricey for the amount of stuff we ordered! And surprisingly it’s not crowded at all.
verdict: too expensive, as compared to their used-to-be outlet at Far East plaza! It’s approxi $20 per pax for 2 plate of sliced Salmon, 1 chawanmushi and 1 Tempura Cha soba set ($14)

third day into (proper) working life.
as of now- i don’t like my job, i don’t enjoy it (seriously!) but i don’t hate it (yet!).
i can’t see my future here. It’s finance role with management reporting content, something that i wanna learn & always thought i’m interested in. But apparently i dont, or maybe not in bank! It’s too big & messy!
the banking terms-bonds, maturity, rates, is mad confusing! i just shut myself off their convo sometimes, nothing rings a bell to me! thinking that i’m landed myself into the WRONG industry, but what so special in my team is.. the people here knows DEBIT CREDIT well too! & seriously i take my hats off them, to be equipped with banking&finance (all the stupid currencies, rates, Hyperion!) and accounting (accrual, expense, revenue) knowledge! perhaps that’s the reason why they are in the FINANCE DIV of the BANK!
i hope those consolation words like- IT”S ONLY YOUR THIRD DAY INTO THE JOB, GIVE YOURSELF SOMEMORE TIME! will turn out well! seems like i complaint & whine at the begining of ALL my previous job ( from the one i really love- Statutory Board, to the one that i call it “learning by the hardest way internship”)
if u’re wondering what have i been doing for the past 3 days & my portfolio! I’ve been running the daily operations & some simple month end reports! For instance, update the currency rates, maintaining the opening currency position, running of revale reports etc etc! Tonnes of day-to-day jobs waiting for my everyday. Ironically with some system processing & access authority to the system, i have lesser work (currently) however feeling kinda handicapped too!
blessed me pls! i dunno if this is the right place for me! i dont deny that the longer u stay here u will have more market value in the future, because there’s really alot to be learnt here. But is this my cup of tea?

That’s more or less what i have been doing for the year 2010! Of course the above are the significants events that happened. I hope 2011 will be such a good year ( or better), of course it will definitely be a much more challenging year ahead. I hope for the better!

i’m officially starting work on the 3rd January 2011. I seriously have no idea what might be ahead waiting for me. 我只希望我不会做到死，做到恨，做不下去！

was just back from Shuying’s wedding at hotel Re! though we did not have much time to talk to her, but xueling’s detailed updates made up for it.

Our table for the night. Supposed to be 10 pax, however due-to-unforeseen-circumstances, we had the whole table to ourselves (5pax). Ended up with lots of unfinished food.
#1 : The first dish for the night- the cold dish platter! <3
#2 : Shark’s fin soup with crab meat. my fav once again! these are the leftover/thrown away from our table of 5 pax! We all had extra servings ( i had three!), but only half of the big bowl were cleared. Abit wasteful hur!
#3 : Steamed prawn with herbs in chines wine! Again this was our leftover. Big prawns in ginseng soup base, i think.
#4 : Six Treasure – A mixture of spinach, mushroom, carrots.. ( six types of veggie)
#5 : Deep fried Soon Hock (it’s Fish!) with nonya sauce.
#6 : Wok fried duck meat with walnut in XO sauce. I don’t think it tasted like duck, more like chicken!
#7 : Seafood Ee Fu noodles ( i like!) ( no pics!)
#8 : Yam Paste with pumkin and Gingko nuts ( no pics!)

this week was rather well spent! Though no job offers or interview, but fulfilling.
Friday 12 nov 2010!
went for a distant realtive wedding. there stretches from morning till night. And my first time in a catholic church
regent hotel for the dinner, that was so near to the previous workplace! how i missed walking up the same old route few times a day.
loves the spiral stairs <3 so classy!

the wedding banquet was quite different from the traditional dinner. they have the march in of bride&groom, followed by cake cutting, yum sang, speech by the groom & PERFECT FLOW OF DINNER with no interruption from the stage! abit boring i would say, but at least the food comes in timely one after another & ended the whole dinner aound 11pm.
see beside the stairs, the elevators are so classic too! quite similar to orchard hotel?

went for the Flea at Pit Building! the walk from promenade Mrt was killing, so far & it was drizzling too! think we’re too old for flea hur, mag? they the people there are so MUCH younger than us! no buys cos they were mostly rings ( which i dont wear!)& preloves clothes, no specialty & most importantly so crowded and messy!
kite flying at marina barrage! poor amelia had her kite flew away, cos of the running out of thread that she failed to notice it in time, end up the kite flew further & further and finally nowhere in sight! mad funny to see her running after the thread & coming back in disappointment!
she’s quite good a kite flying hur! she managed to fly the kite up.
